Man Stabbed Twice In Separate Incidents In Belfast
A man has been stabbed in a fast food restaurant in north Belfast while paramedics treated him for an earlier stab wound.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident in the OldPark Road area on Sunday 17 February.
At around 6.20pm it was reported that a man with a suspected stab wound had entered a fast food outlet in the area. Whilst paramedics were tending to his injury, an unknown male came into the premises and is alleged to have assaulted the wounded man.
The assailant was restrained by one of the paramedics before he left the scene, heading in the direction of Rosapenna Street. He is described as being approximately 30 years old, slim build, approximately 5'6" tall, clean shaven and wearing a red Liverpool top and tracksuit bottoms. He also had a black left eye.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries and is believed to be in a stable condition.
Inspector Robert McMurran said: "Enquiries are ongoing to determine exactly where this stabbing incident took place. I would appeal to anyone who witnessed either incident to come forward and speak to police at Tennent Street on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1051 17/02/19.
"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."

The PSNI has welcomed the sentencing of a man at Craigavon Crown Court in connection with a cannabis farm disovered in Annahilt in February, 2023. Clive Weir, from the Annahilt area, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 18 months on licence.

Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.
