Man Suffers Serious Facial Injuries After Ballymena Incident
A man has been hospitalised with serious facial injuries after an incident in County Antrim.
Police responded to reports of an altercation outside a house in the Lanntara area of Ballymena in the early hours of Monday 25 February.
A man in his 30's was taken to hospital with facial injuries which are believed to be serious.
PSNI Sergeant Adams said it is not yet clear how many people were involved in the incident.
Enquiries are continuing and the police have urged anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to contact them on non-emergency line 101, quoting reference number 6 of 25/2/19.
Details can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
£140K Road Project Gets Underway In Claudy
A £140,000 road improvement scheme is set to commence in Claudy tomorrow, Tuesday 26 February.
A section of the Glenshane Road, from the Letterlougher to Claggan roads, will be resurfaced in an effort to strengthen and improve the surface quality of the carriageway.
The work is expected to be completed by Saturday 23 March.
To facilitate the scheme, lane closures will be in operation between 26 February and 09 March.
A full road closure will also be required to facilitate the laying of final asphalt surface, however the public will be advised of dates and times in advance.
Work has been carefully planned to minimise any disruption to the public, however, road users should expect some delays and additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
Completion of the work on time is subject to favourable weather conditions.
Sinn Fein Welcome Renaming Of Robinson Centre
A Sinn Fein Councillor has welcomed the naming of Lisnasharragh Leisure Centre by Belfast City Council, saying it will make the east Belfast facility welcoming to all.
The sports complex, formerly known as the Robinson centre, became the subject of much controversy due to its naming after ex-DUP leader Peter Robinson.
The council took the decision on Friday 22 February to rename the Montgomery Road facility as it undergoes a £20 million regeneration scheme.
Sinn Fein Councillor Ciarán Beattie said he was pleased at the move.
"This name, in line with council policy, will ensure that the new centre will be welcoming and inclusive to all," he commented.

Work on Comber Bypass gets underway
Construction work on the £4.9 million Comber Bypass got underway today when Regional Development Minister Peter Robinson cut the first sod on the scheme. The scheme, which involves the construction of a 1.5km length of single carriageway and a 1km length of dual carriageway road, represents Stage Two of the project.
