The A29 Tobermore Road and adjoining Flyover Slip Road is set for an upgrade.
The roadworks are expected to be finished by Saturday 16 March.
The scheme will stretch approximately 650 metres from Glenshane Industrial Park to Mullagh Road, as well as 100 metres on the Flyover Slip Road from its junction with the Tobermore Road.
Two-way traffic flow will be maintained for the majority of the works with lane closures under traffic signal control.

SDLP: Autistic Children In NI Are Being Failed By The System
An SDLP MLA has said there are "huge failures" in the system for children with autism, including inadequate resources and a lack of post-diagnosis support.
The party's Health Spokesperson, Mark Durkan, was responding to reports that the amount of children diagnosed with the condition has soared. He welcomed the increased public awareness but demanded further progress.
The Foyle MLA commented: "The reported spike in child autism diagnoses here is reflective of an increased awareness, thanks to public health campaigns led by local autism groups. It is lamentable however that adequate care pathways both before and after diagnosis are yet to be established- despite knowledge of the issues laid out in 'The Broken Promises Report' by Autism NI prior to the Executive's collapse.
"As a result, an improved framework could not be implemented, leaving access to autism services in a state of inertia. Given that access to autism support and services were already under immense pressures, the exponential increase in demand means the needs of many children and their families will not be met.
"This will undoubtedly impact on their ability to do things that most people take for granted, particularly in regard to education. Making an already frustrating and lengthy process more stressful, not to mention detrimental to the health and wellbeing of both the child and their family."
Mr Durkan continued: "Sadly the potential of the 'Autism Act NI' bill proposed by my former party colleague Dominic Bradley, to transform people's lives, has been compromised not only by a lack of financial support but a lack of ministerial decision-making.
"People's priorities are with the good health and happiness of their loved ones- when all is said and done the public will not remember the details around political stalemate but they will remember how those failures negatively impacted on their lives. Our health system is crying out for transformation and these recent figures are stark evidence that investment in resources for autism services is crucial at this time."
Road Safety Works Planned For Busy Hillsborough Route
A £200,000 road safety improvement scheme on a major route close to Hillsborough will begin on Monday 04 March.
The work will see the A1 dual carriageway at the Dromore Bypass, close to the County Down town, upgraded to improve the safety for motorists.
Three sections of central reserve safety barrier will be placed on a 1.3 kilometre long stretch of road.
It is welcome news for the 40,000 drivers who use the road each day, and will take five weeks to complete.
The temporary traffic management required to carry out the works safely will consist of speed restrictions and lane closures adjacent to the central median in both the northbound and southbound carriageways. To minimise disruption to motorists, the lane closures are scheduled for overnight, between 8.00 pm and 6.00 am every night including weekends from Monday 04 March until Wednesday 03 April 2019, when the work should be finished.
The speed restrictions will apply at all times for the safety of road users until works are fully completed.
Completion on time is dependent on favourable weather conditions.
