Traffic Disruption Across NI Amid Severe Fog Alert
Roads in Northern Ireland saw traffic chaos this morning, 28 February, amid a severe weather warning for fog.
There have been a number of crashes and police have warned drivers to keep their distance and take caution on the roads.
The Ballycombs Road in Portglenone is closed between its junctions with the Ballynease and Mullaghnamoyagh roads due to a traffic collision.
Part of the Westlink was also blocked, causing long delays on the M1.
The Met Office issued a yellow alert which will remain active until 11am today.
Slower journey times throughout the day are expected as the fog clears, with flight delays or cancellations possible.
The A26 Crankill Road in Antrim, between Glarryford and the Applegreen service station, has now reopened following an earlier collision.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Hard-Hitting Road Safety Message Delivered To Young People
Over 800 young people from schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh attended a hard-hitting road safety message at the PSNI Road Safe Roadshow on 19 November. The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.

Suspicious Object Sparks Antrim Security Alert
Police are currently dealing with a security alert in County Antrim. The discovery of a suspicious object sparked the operation on the A6 Belfast Road on Thursday 31 January. The road has been closed between the New Lodge and Rathmore roads. Diversions are in place and airport traffic is not likely to be affected.
