Police Investigate After Armed Man Threatens Workers In Lurgan

Police in Lurgan are investigating reports that a number of workers were threatened by an armed individual.

The incident occurred on Saturday 02 March shortly after 11am, while a group of men worked on the railway line at Lake Street.

They were allegedly approached by a man armed with a firearm, before he issued a number of threats and then fled the scene.

PSNI Chief Inspector Barney O'Connor said: "We are currently working with Translink and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened this morning or who has any information that could assist police to please call 101, quoting reference 480 02/03/19."

Armed Man Threatens Shop Worker In Lurgan
A man armed with a hammer has threatened a shop worker in Lurgan. The incident happened in the Lough Road area at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, 03 October. The suspect made off with a sum of money in the direction of Victoria Street. He has been described as around 6ft tall, of stocky build and was wearing a grey hooded top and dark bottoms.

Robbery Probed In Lurgan
Police officers in Lurgan have appealed for information following an armed robbery in the town on Saturday. Two males armed with screwdrivers entered a supermarket at Sloan Street at approximately 2.45pm. They took a sum of cash from a till before making off in the direction of the Shankill area of Lurgan.
