Police Appeal After Racist Graffiti Sprayed On Cookstown Property

Police are appealing for information after a property in Cookstown was subjected to criminal damage which they believe was part of a racially motivated hate crime.

A building in the Millburn Park area of Cookstown was targeted on Monday morning, 04 March.

Seargeant John Dornan said afterwards: "Sometime between 9:45 am and 10:15 am this morning, it was reported that graffiti was spray painted onto a property in the area. Enquiries are continuing and the incident is being treated as a racially motivated hate crime.

"We would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at that time to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 305 of 4/3/19. Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."

Car Plunges Onto Rocks In Portstewart

A car has plunged over the seawall and onto rocks in Portstewart, County L'Derry.

The incident happened on Tuesday morning, 05 March. Emergency services were tasked to the scene and the vehicle, which sustained significant damage, was later recovered.

It remains unclear how the incident came about.

No one is believed to have been injured.

Anne Marie Confirmed For 2019 Custom House Square Line-up

Singer-Songwriter Anne Marie is among the latest acts announced for the Custom House Square line-up for 2019.

The 2002 hitmaker will perform in Belfast on Sunday 18 August, her biggest show in the city so far.

Anne Marie released her debut album 'Speak Your Mind' in April last year, which has since sold over 130,000 copies.

Tickets for the show will go on sale at 9am on Friday 08 March from Ticketmaster outlets.

Also confirmed for the venue are punk rock band Stiff Little Fingers, who will play on Saturday 24 August.

Thieves Steal iPads And Laptops From Primary School In Antrim
Over 50 laptops and computers have been stolen from a primary school in Co Antrim. The incident happened at St Joseph's on the Greystone Road overnight on Tuesday. The thieves stole 50 iPads and around 30 laptops. Sinn Féin Councillor Anne Marie Logue condemned the incident and said it is an attack on the entire community.
