Over 600 People In Crowd Of Cookstown Tragedy

More than 600 people were in the queue or car park outside the Greenvale Hotel on the night three teenagers died in an apparent crush, it has emerged.

The PSNI gave an update on the investigation into the St Patrick's Day tragedy when Lauren Bullock, 17, Morgan Barnard, 17, and Connor Currie, 16, all lost their lives on Sunday 17 March.

619 young people have been identified as being in the area at the time, with 267 of those already interviewed, according to Detective Superintendent Raymond Murray.

Police have viewed mobile phone footage from the scene, submitted by witnesses via the Major Incident Public Portal. The investigation is ongoing and anyone who has not yet contacted officers is urged to come forward and help the police build an accurate picture of the events last Sunday.

Police Ombudsman Dr Michael Maguire is examining how police responded when the first emergency call was made at around 9.30pm.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.

A police officer has been disciplined after failing to properly investigate an allegation that a man annoyed by children playing football near his car, attacked a 12-year-old boy by kicking him on the hand.

Man's Body Recovered From Bangor Marina
Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was recovered from Bangor Marina on Wednesday, 13 May. Police received a report that a man had entered the water shortly after 10.15am. Emergency services and police attended the scene and the body was recovered from the water. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Police Vehicle Contracts Arrest - Man Released
A 54-year-old member of police staff who was arrested in County Antrim as part of ongoing investigations into the awarding of vehicle contracts has been released. The man was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office and has been taken to a police station in Belfast for questioning.
