Pair Charged Over Taxi Robbery

A man and woman have been charged after a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint in Belfast.

The incident happened in the Shankill Road area of the city in the early hours of Monday morning, 20 May.

The perpetrators fled the scene on foot after the robbery and were caught shortly after by responding police.

A 32-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man have now been charged with a number of offences including robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

Both are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court this morning, 21 May.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

Man Arrested Over Armed Robbery In West Belfast
A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in west Belfast. The robbery happened at a shop on Caffrey Avenue at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 27 February. The suspect threatened a member of staff and made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes. He was arrested on Wednesday, 28 February, and has been detained in police custody.

Man to appear in court following Lisburn robbery
An 18-year-old man is due to appear in Lisburn Magistrates Court today, charged with robbery and grievous bodily harm. The charge is believed to be in relation to an incident in the Benson Street area of the town yesterday afternoon, when a woman was assaulted and robbed.
