Royals Visit Damaged Primark Site

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall paid a visit to the fire-ravaged Bank Buildings in Belfast City Centre today, 22 May, as part of their three-day royal tour of Ireland.

The pair took in the sight of the historic structure which formally housed Primark before a blaze gutted the building in August 2018.

Carrying out his first official engagement, Lord Mayor John Finucane greeted the royal couple before they were briefed on the ongoing construction work to rebuild the landmark site.

Prince Charles and Camilla also met with restoration experts and first responders who dealt with the aftermath of the blaze, along with staff from the council and Primark.

A large security operation was established in the area as the royal couple were greeted by hundreds of well wishers.
