Belfast Marathon 544 Metres Too Long
Organisers of the Belfast City Marathon have confirmed that the course was an additional 84 metres too long than first reported.
In a new statement issued on Wednesday, 29 May, it was revealed that runners covered an extra 544 metres, not 460 metres as originally stated.
The additional distance was due to human error, with the lead car diverting from the official route. This year saw the first race on the new course which began at Stormont.
Marathon times have been adjusted in accordance with each runner's average finisher time and are available online.
Organisers have apologised to all competitors for the error.

Four Arrested Following Disorder In South Belfast
Four men have been arrested following public disorder incidents in the university area of south Belfast on Thursday, November 14th. Police responded to a number of offences, including resisting and obstructing police, and assault on police. Three men, aged 18, 20, and 21, have been charged and are due to appear in court in December.

41st Belfast City Marathon Announced
