PSNI Honour Co Tyrone Heroes

Two young men who intervened when a man was "viciously" attacked in County Tyrone last year have been honoured by the PSNI.

"Not all heroes wear capes," a spokesperson said after Chief Constable George Hamilton presented Dominick Kelly and Patrick Harvey with an award in recognition of their actions.

In May last year the pair witnessed a thug attack an older gentleman who was working at a shop in The Square, Moy.

Writing on Facebook today, Thursday 20 May, a PSNI spokesperson said: "While others looked on or looked away the lads crossed the street in the right direction and intervened to get the thug away from his victim, he then turned his attentions to them, punching and kicking them.

"They both stood firm and overpowered the attacker restraining him until others came and assisted then keeping him there until we arrived and arrested him.

"This week past the Chief Constable was delighted to present them both with an award in recognition of their actions.

"Great work gents!"
