Man Sentenced For Drugs Offences
A 60-year-old man from Carrickfergus has been sentenced for drug related offences.
Thomas Robb pled guilty to possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply following a search of his property in November 2018 which recovered cannabis worth approximately £18,000.
He was sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended for three years, at Belfast Magistrates Court on Tuesday 04 June.
Welcoming the sentencing, Detective Sergeant Farrelly from the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force said: "Criminals that involve themselves in illegal drugs cause serious harm and misery in the community and can expect to be the subject of police investigation. They can expect to be arrested and every effort to be made to put them before the court.
"We will continue in our efforts to make Northern Ireland a safer place to live and work by seeking out those who are only interested in making money for their own personal gain through the sale of illegal drugs. Drug dealers do not care about the people they could end up killing by supplying these drugs in our communities, or the misery caused to the families of drug users."
DS Farrelly appealed for anyone with information on the supply of drugs to contact police on non-emergency line 101. Details can also be passed anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A Newtownabbey man has been handed a custodial sentence for a series of drugs offences following police raids as part of a paramilitary probe. 49-year-old William Axon will serve two years imprisonment, half in custody and half on licence.

Pharmacist Sentenced For Drug Offences
A 27-year-old pharmacist from Belfast has been sentenced to 180 hours of community service for unlawfully possessing and stealing controlled prescription drugs. Adam Hanna pleaded guilty to charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and the Theft Act 1969. The offences took place at a North Belfast pharmacy between January and March 2024.

A 45-year-old woman has been charged following an investigation into the illegal supply of prescription drugs. Two men, aged 21 and 33, were also arrested on Thursday following a number of searches in north Belfast. A large quantity of diazepam tablets have also been seized, according to police. The woman is due to appear in court today, Friday.
