Police Hunt Man After Belfast Burglary

Police are hunting a man following an aggravated burglary in Belfast early this morning, Friday 21 June.

It was reported that a man armed with a knife entered a property in the Palestine Street area at around 5am and demanded cash.

The occupants, a man and woman, were threatened before the man left. It is believed a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone was taken.

No one was injured in the incident but both occupants were left shaken.

The man was described as being approximately 5'11", of slim build, wearing a black coat with a hood and black bottoms.

Detective Sergeant Sam McCallum said: "Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives in Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 281 of 21/06/19.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
