Main NI Route Diverted After Multi Vehicle Crash
Diversions have been put in place this afternoon after a serious road traffic collision on the A6 near Toome in County Antrim.
The multi vehicle crash happened on the Moneynick Road at around 12.40pm, with closures put in place at the end of the M2.
Police said traffic was heavy on either side of the incident. Vehicles were diverted off the motorway at the Ballygrooby roundabout, while Belfast bound traffic was diverted onto the Roguery Road.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene.
Movie House Cinema Belfast Closing Date Delayed
The closing date for the Movie House Cinema on the Dublin Road in Belfast has been delayed until the end of summer.
The popular site was set to close at the end of May to make way for Technology giant Kainos which bought the land earlier this year, but delays to the development mean movie buffs can continue enjoying films there for the next few months.
In a statement, Movie House said: "Good news! Dublin Road will remain open all summer. We've extended our stay at least until the end of August so you can catch all the best summer movies like Spiderman Far from Home, Toy Story 4, Annabelle Comes Home, Lion King and Fast & Furious Hobbs and Shaw."
Play Area Refurbishments Complete In Lisburn Area
A series of play area refurbishments have been completed in the Lisburn & Castlereagh area, improving six parks in the district.
The final two improved parks, Colby Park and Moat Park, were reopened yesterday, 24 June.
More than £620,000 was spent upgrading each of the parks across the region, with the four other areas located at Queen Elizabeth II Playing Fields, Hillhall, Lambeg and Edgar Avenue. Each play park has a safety surface and a range of play equipment to accommodate all abilities of children.
Speaking at the official openings, Alderman James Tinsley, Chairman of the Council's Leisure & Community Development Committee, said: "The council is committed to encouraging its younger residents to get active and socialise. To support them we create state-of-the-art play facilities in local communities across Lisburn Castlereagh. It is great to see the final two of this round of refurbishments officially re-opened.
"Our local communities are important to us and will play a key role in shaping the future of our area. Over the next year we will be progressing plans for further play park refurbishments throughout the council area so I would encourage local communities to support us in our endeavours.
"Leisure and play time is vital in the development of a child's cognitive, emotional and physical growth. The council is keen to invest in community play parks as safe locations for children to retreat to and relax after a busy day or perhaps expend their excess energy. As our play parks are for the enjoyment of everyone I would ask that parents know where their children are at all times," concluded Alderman Tinsley.

£2.8m from the Executive's Social Investment Fund is going toward four new play parks in L'Derry, The facilities will be located at Ballymagroarty Play Park, Kilfennan Valley Park, Ballyarnett Country Park and Daisyfield. Derry City Council has put up £300,000 towards the project.
