Appeal Following Lisburn Shooting
Police in Lisburn are appealing for the public's help following a shooting in the city.
A flat on the Ballynahinch Road was targeted at around 1.45am this morning, Wednesday 03 July. Three males were later arrested in connection with the incident.
The route remained closed for some time while an investigation was carried out but has since reopened to traffic.
Detective Constable Maxwell said: "Folks I'm sure a lot of you will have already heard about this incident on the news this morning however we are appealing for any witnesses to contact us in relation to the shooting incident on the Ballynahinch Road in Lisburn.
"At around 1.45am this morning it was reported that four shots had been fired at a flat on the Ballynahinch Road. It is believed the gunman then fled in a White Honda jeep. Police officers on patrol nearby spotted a vehicle matching the description and signalled for it to stop. The vehicle attempted to make off from officers but following a short pursuit was brought to a halt. Three males onboard, aged 20, 24 and 31 were subsequently arrested on suspicion of a number of offences and remain in custody this morning.
"We believe the white Honda jeep had been in the Ballynahinch Road area for a time before the incident and we are appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle or its occupants to please get in touch. We'd also like to hear from anyone with any other information that could assist the police investigation. Please call 101, quoting reference 105 03/07/19."

Man Killed In Lisburn Crash Named
The PSNI have released the name of a man who died in a three-vehicle crash in Lisburn. The collision happened on the Old Ballynahinch Road just before 7am on Monday, 14 August. Gary Wilson, aged 50, was the driver of one of the vehicles involved.

Over 800 young people from schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh attended a hard-hitting road safety message at the PSNI Road Safe Roadshow on 19 November. The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.
