Registrations Open For Annual Coleraine Five Mile Road Race
The annual 'Edwin May Nissan 5 Mile Classic' in Coleraine is now open for registration.
Organised by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, the event will take place on Wednesday 14 August, with competitors pacing the streets from Coleraine Leisure Centre at 7.30pm.
With a variety of categories to take part in, participants can run, sprint or jog the course.
Event organiser Brian Tohill commented: "This event has grown from strength to strength over the last couple of years. We have 20 different categories for people to choose from including a veteran section for over 35's to over 65's and a male and female wheelchair category. Many entrants will be participating in their first 5 Mile run, while others will be seeking a personal best on this flat, fast course."
Kenny Bacon of Springwell Running Club added: "Springwell Running Club are delighted to assist Coleraine Leisure Centre in the organisation of the 'Edwin May 5 Mile Classic.' Last year's event attracted a very large turnout of Club Members and we hope for the same this year."

Locals Invited To Shape Antrim & Newtownabbey Planning Framework
Locals in the Antrim & Newtownabbey council area have been called to help shape the Borough's new planning framework.
The council will host a series of public information meetings and drop in sessions to provide further information of the draft Plan Strategy which was published last month and for the public to raise any questions they may have.
These events will be held across the Borough from 31 July to 05 September.
Speaking ahead of the public consultation, Chair of the Planning Committee, Alderman Philip Brett, said: "Planning decisions affect our housing, education, businesses, rural communities and our natural and historic environment and through the draft Plan Strategy we wish to positively and proactively guide development in the Borough so that we can meet the needs and improve the quality of life of all our residents.
"The eight week period of public consultation and engagement will provide everyone with an opportunity to have their say on our proposals for the future of the Borough and I would encourage everyone to have their say and help shape future Council policies that will positively affect employment, infrastructure, housing and sustainable growth across the Borough for years to come."

Annual Flower Show Set To Bloom In Larne
The annual Mid and East Antrim Flower Show is to be held on Saturday 17 August at the Market Yard in Larne.
This year an artisan Summer Market courtesy of Naturally North Coast and Glens Market will add to the occasion, bringing a range of stalls for browsing arts and crafts, plants, and food and drink.
Gardening enthusiasts from across the borough are encouraged to apply, with categories including cut flowers, pot plants, vegetables, flower arrangement, home industry and the junior section for those aged 16 and under to showcase their budding talent.
The flower arrangement challenge for adults this year is to create displays on the themes of 'The Blooming Best!', 'Coastal Creation' and 'Edible Garden'. The novice class has also made a return, specifically for new entries to the show, and displays on the theme 'Summer Basket' will be welcomed.
The Flower Show is free to enter for both experts and complete beginners and the prize giving ceremony will be hosted by Anne Marie McAleese from BBC Radio Ulster.
There will also be live music and activities on the day including flower arranging, scarecrow making and petting farm.
The event will from 1pm to 4pm on 17 August.

Record-Breaking Michael Dunlop Celebrated In Home Town
Motorcycle racer Michael Dunlop received a hero's homecoming in Ballymoney, Antrim, on Saturday following his record-breaking efforts at the Isle of Man TT. The Northern Irish man surpassed his late uncle, Joey Dunlop, in recording the most TT wins after securing his 29th earlier this year.

Greenisland 3G Pitch Opens To Public
A new state-of-the-art 3G football pitch and sports hub has opened for action in Greenisland, County Antrim. The facility follows an investment of £800,000 and will be open to the entire community as well as hosting Greenisland FC. The pitch features outdoor gym equipment and was jointly funded by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and Sport NI.
