Pair Attacked With Iron Bars In Co Antrim
Two men have been taken to hospital after they were assaulted in Newtownabbey, County Antrim.
The incident happened in the Ballyfore Walk area at around 10.15pm last night, Wednesday 24 July.
Detectives said the two victims, aged 33 and 59, were targeted by three males who were possibly armed with iron bars. Initial enquiries established that a number of cars then left the vicinity with their wheels spinning.
The men's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Detective Sergeant Coulter issued an appeal for information for anyone who witnessed what occurred or has any information to get in touch by calling non-emergency line 101 quoting reference number 2212 of 24/07/19.
Alternatively, statements can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

Man Assaulted In Aggravated Break-In
The occupant of a house in the Hillman Street area of north Belfast has been assaulted in a robbery by a gang of men. Detectives in Antrim Road are appealing for information following the aggravated burglary. At approximately 09:15 the house was forcibly entered by four masked men.

Pensioner robbed in north Belfast home
An 82 year-old man has been treated for shock following a robbery at his home in north Belfast last night. The pensioner was forced into his house in Fortwilliam Parade at about 11pm by three men who ransacked the house and left with a sum of money and pension books.

DCI Caldwell Investigation: Two Men Released
Two men, aged 47 and 71, arrested in connection with the investigation into the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell on 22nd February in the Killyclogher Road area of Omagh, has been released following questioning. Two other men, aged 33 and 57, remain in police custody at this time.

Two Arrested Over Lisburn Murder
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Paul Smyth in Lisburn. Mr Smyth, 50, was found dead in the living room of his house in Coulson Avenue at around 8.45pm on Friday 21 June. Police later confirmed he had been shot. The two men, aged 29 and 32, remain in custody.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a report of an aggravated burglary at the Queens Avenue area of Cookstown on Friday 3rd February. Shortly after 10pm, it was reported that four masked men entered a property in the area with one of the men armed with an iron bar and another man armed with a suspected firearm.
