Holiday Scam Sees Woman Duped Out Of £1,350
A woman from Northern Ireland has lost £1,350 in a holiday scam, it has emerged.
The victim, a lady from Armagh, was duped out of the money when she booked using a fraudulent website called 'PerfectHolidaySpain'.
After paying for a week-long stay at an apartment in Spain, the would-be holidaymaker attempted to make contact to arrange to collect her keys. It was at this point she discovered the website had disappeared and was unable to get in contact with anyone.
Scamwiseni has since warned anyone planning to book a holiday online to stick to reputable websites and travel agents. The public are advised to carry out checks on holiday review websites to ensure the operation is above board before handing over any money.

The PSNI have issued a warning to people across NI to be on their guard when booking holidays and watch out for tricks scammers use to con people. Nationally, figures from Action Fraud reveal scammers conned consumers out of more than £15 million last year, which amounts to an average loss of £2,372 per victim.
