New Head Of Ulster Bank NI Appointed
A new Head of Banking has been appointed to Ulster Bank Northern Ireland.
Mark Crimmins, the current Regional Managing Director for Business Banking in Northern Ireland and Scotland will assume the position from Richard Donnan, who plans to pursue interests outside banking after 30 years in the business.
The former Vice President of Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade, Mark will be responsible for all business, commercial and corporate banking as well as engaging with external stakeholders.
After starting his career in accountancy, he has over 20 years' experience with Ulster Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland in a variety of business banking and leadership roles across Ireland and Scotland. Richard Donnan will remain with the bank over the coming months as he and Mark work together to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
Speaking about his new appointment, Mark Crimmins said: "Ulster Bank exists to serve the communities in which we operate, whether that's helping people own their own home or grow their business and we will continue to improve the ways that we do this. I'm very much looking forward to the role and continuing the great work that's being done by colleagues across our business."
The incoming head also paid tribute to his predecessor, saying: "Richard has provided exemplary leadership for the bank, helping to make it into a strong, safe and profitable business that supports all aspects of the Northern Ireland economy and we wish him well as he pursues interests outside of banking."

Ulster Bank has announced the introduction of two new vertical polymer banknotes, which will enter circulation in 2019. The new £5 and £10 notes are based on the theme 'living in nature' and will feature Strangford Lough, Brent geese, Lough Erne, the Irish hare and Guelder-rose shrubs.

'Economy Improving' Says Bank, Despite Downgrade
Ulster Bank has announced that improving exports and more consumer spending has led to an improving economy, despite yesterday's downgrading of Ireland's credit rating. Ulster Bank said today it was revising its forecasts for Irish economic growth in 2010 upwards, predicts average annual GDP growth of 1%, up from -0.5% previously.
