Teenage Girl Shot With Pellet Gun

A teenage girl has been shot with a pellet gun in what police are investigating as a hate crime.

The young girl is understood to have been wearing her traditional Pakistani clothing when she was targeted on Orkney Drive, Ballymena on Wednesday 31 July.

The teenager was at a play park in the area at around 3pm when she was shot and left with a facial injury. Police said her home was also damaged in the attack.

Detectives are investigating the incident as a hate crime and have appealed for anyone who witnessed it to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1414 of 31/07/19.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Colin Horner
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Colin Horner in Bangor, Co Down. Mr Horner was fatally shot outside a supermarket in from of his young son on 28 May this year. The suspect has been taken to Musgrave police station to be questioned.
