Irish PM Joins Belfast Pride
Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar has travelled to Belfast to take part in the city's Pride parade for the first time.
Mr Varadkar joined crowds of over 60,000 to march through the city centre on Saturday, 03 August, and insisted that the biggest parade in Northern Ireland is not orange or green, but rainbow coloured.
Sharing photos on Twitter, Mr Varadkar hailed the inclusive celebration. He said: "Biggest march in Northern Ireland is not orange or green, it's rainbow coloured. This is NI at its best. Best of Britishness and Irishness."
The presence of Mr Varadkar, Ireland's first openly gay Taoiseach, has been perceived as significant as the region remains without provisions for same-sex marriage. He also joined Dublin's Pride march in June this year.
New Stretch Of A6 Opens In Co Antrim
A new stretch of the A6 has opened, providing a route between Randalstown and Toome.
The new 7km road is expected to benefit around 20,000 drivers daily.
It forms the first phase of the £185 million A6 Randalstown to Castledawson Dualling Scheme, which will see 14.7 kilometres of the A6 North Western Transport Corridor upgraded between Randalstown and Castledawson.
Welcoming the progress, Sinn Féin MLA Raymond McCartney said: "This new dual carriageway will improve road safety and cut journey times between Derry and Belfast.
"It will also help provide a boost to the local economy and will be particularly welcomed by hauliers and other commercial road users.
"Work is underway and is progressing well on the other phases of this vital infrastructure project and I look forward to seeing their completion in the time ahead."
The scheme is being delivered by a joint venture between GRAHAM and Farrans.

Saturday will finish with a fabulous flourish as Peter Corry brings his spectacular show, 'The Showman is Coming' to the Shoreline. A fantastic fireworks display will follow the show at 10pm on the Saturday evening.
On Sunday, the chilled out family summer fun continues with a free outdoor cinema, commencing at 3pm with a showing of the ever popular family film, Finding Nemo, followed by Mamma Mia at 6.30pm.
Make sure you also pay a visit to Whiteabbey Village from 12pm to 5pm, where there will be family fun activities, stalls to meander through and tasty treats to take your fancy!
Admission is free of charge, however a small charge will apply for the amusements and the Big Wheel.
