Man Escapes Injury As Home Attacked
A man has escaped injury following an incident of criminal damage on his Bangor home.
A house in Ballynoe Gardens in the Kilcooley area of the town was targeted overnight on Tuesday 06 August. A number of windows at the property were smashed in what is believed to be the second attack on the street within 24 hours.
Three people were seen running away from the scene shortly after the criminal damage occurred at around 12.25am, just hours after a car and van were burnt out by arsonists.
Alliance Councillor Connie Egan has condemned those behind the violence. She commented: "I'm extremely disappointed to hear about more destruction within the heart of this community. Local people don't want to see this violence and destruction we have unfortunately had here two nights in a row, and we all must stand together in condemning those determined to continue this irresponsible behaviour.
"I've been in touch with senior local PSNI officers, who have assured me they are taking this incident and one the previous night seriously, and will be acting accordingly.
"The rule of law must be upheld and I would encourage anyone with information to make contact with the PSNI or with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 immediately."
