Progress On Omagh Shared Education Campus Welcomed
Sinn Fein has welcomed the progress on the Strule Shared Education Campus in Omagh, County Tyrone.
Local MP Órfhlaith Begley confirmed the business case is expected to be signed off by the Department of Finance in the coming weeks. A revised financial approval was required due to an increase in costs since the original business case was submitted.
The project has suffered numerous setbacks in recent years. Ms Begley's comments follow a meeting with Deputy Secretary of the Department of Education John Smith and west Tyrone MLA for Sinn Fein Catherine Kelly.
Ms Kelly has called for progress on the construction of the main site. She said: "The delivery of this ground-breaking project will see the schools having state-of-the-art facilities while also enabling pupils to benefit from the opportunities provided through enhanced collaboration and sharing.
"The Strule Shared Education Campus will bring social, economic and most importantly educational benefits for our young people. This will also help regenerate Omagh town and the wider district.
"Sinn Féin will continue press for completion of this project to see its completion as soon as possible."
Dungannon Roads To Close To Facilitate Upgrades
Two roads in Dungannon will close as they undergo significant upgrades worth a total of £340,000 in the coming weeks.
The schemes will see surfaces on the Killyman Road and Trewmount Road improved to address ongoing maintenance problems. The footpaths along these sections of road will also be resurfaced as part of the project.
Full road closures will be in place in the County Tyrone town to facilitate the works.
Trewmount Road will be closed from Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 August and on Monday 26 and 27 August. Diversions will be via Tamnamore Road and Bovean Road.
Killyman Road will be closed from Monday 02 to Sunday 08 September with diversions via Moy Road, Gortmerron Link Road and Far Circular Road.
Preliminary works are currently ongoing at both locations with lane closures in place. Access to homes and businesses will be accommodated during the works.
Road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the area.
Advice Issued Ahead Of Enniskillen Parade
The PSNI has issued advice ahead of expected travel disruption due to a planned parade in Enniskillen on Friday 16 August.
Locals are advised that the town centre will be closed between 6.30pm and 9.30pm to facilitate the annual Erne Vintage Club parade of vehicles and bands.
Drivers travelling from Belfast towards County Donegal and Belleek are asked to use the Wellington Road where possible and local diversions will be in place.
The parade will be contained within the loop of the town centre and Queen Elizabeth Road and the Forthill Street area.

The figure was revealed by Deputy Divisional Roads Manager, Tom McCourt as he presented DRD Roads Service’s autumn report to Newtownabbey Borough Council. Work Starts On New Facilities At Limavady Shared Education Campus
Building work has started to develop new facilities at the Limavady Shared Education Campus. The project represents an investment of over £11million by the Department of Education across the St. Mary’s and Limavady High School sites.
