Malcolm McKeown: Appeal Over Second Car
Police have renewed their appeal for information over the murder of Malcolm McKeown in County Down last week.
Detectives are particularly interested in a second car, a grey Volkswagen Golf S, that was seen in the Greenhill Park area of Lurgan between 5pm and 7pm on Monday 19 August.
The 54-year-old father of three was struck down at a service station in Waringstown on the same day. His body was found slumped in his car at around 9pm after he was shot six times.
Two men appeared in court on Monday 26 charged with the murder, which police believe is connected to a long standing feud.
The vehicle in question is the second with possible connections to the shooting. Detective Chief Inspector Pete Montgomery issued an earlier appeal in relation to a dark blue or black VW Passat that was seen at 6.20pm in Cambrai Heights. Police believe the car left Cambrai Heights at 7.20pm and travelled along the Dunkirk Road towards Summerhill Road before being burnt out on the Glenavon Lane in Lurgan just after 7.30pm.
Anyone who was in Dewart's Garage on Main Street in Waringstown around 7.15pm on Monday evening or who believes they spotted either of the vehicles is urged to contact detectives on 101. Details can also be passed anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
