Arrest In Malcolm McKeown Murder Probe
Policing probing the murder of Malcolm McKeown in Waringstown, County Down last week have arrested a 24-year-old man.
The 54-year-old father of three was gunned down at a petrol station on Monday 19 August.
His body was found slumped in his car hours after the six fatal shots were fired.
Police arrested a man in Lurgan on suspicion of murder this morning, Thursday 29 August. He was taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
The arrest comes after two other men were remanded in custody on Monday after being charged with Mr McKeown's murder.
Detectives have issued numerous appeals for information with specific focus on two cars believed to have possible connections to the murder.
The first vehicle in question, a blue or black coloured Volkswagen Passat, was seen in the nearby Cambrai Heights shortly before Mr McKeown was murdered at around 7.15pm. Police believe this car left Cambrai Heights at 7.20pm and travelled along the Dunkirk Road towards Summerhill Road before being burnt out on the Glenavon Lane in Lurgan just after 7.30pm.
Anther vehicle of interest, a grey Volkswagen Golf S, was seen in the Greenhill Park area of Lurgan between 5pm and 7pm.
Anyone who was in Dewart's Garage on Main Street in Waringstown at around 7.15pm on Monday evening or who believes they spotted either of the vehicles is urged to contact detectives on 101. Details can also be passed anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
Work has begun at several hospital sites across Northern Ireland as part of the preparations for the introduction of free car parking in May 2026. Health and Social Care Trusts have been actively preparing for the implementation of a new traffic management system since the Hospital Parking Charges Act was passed in 2022.

Two Men Arrested Over Attempted Murder Of PSNI Officers
Two men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with the attempted murder of a two PSNI officers. The suspects, aged 29 and 32, have been detained under a European Arrest Warrant. The arrests were in connection with a bomb discovered attached to a police officer's vehicle in L'Derry in June 2015.
