Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Belfast

A busy east Belfast road was closed this afternoon after a pedestrian was struck in a crash.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the Upper Newtownards Road on Monday 09 September following the single vehicle collision.

A woman aged in her 60's is understood to have been knocked down shortly before 11.25am. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road was closed off for some time, with diversions in place at the junctions with the Beersbridge Road and Grampian Avenue.

Police have appealed for witnesses, especially anyone who may have dash cam footage of the crash, to contact them on 101.
