Public Warned As Cold Callers Circulate In Cookstown
Police have issued a warning amid reports of suspicious persons calling at homes in Cookstown, Co Tyrone.
Two males are believed to have been cold calling in the Maloon and Morgans Hill areas of the town, claiming to offer specialist cleaning services.
A PSNI spokesperson explained: "Crews are currently in the area and investigating.
"Do not entertain or get into a conversation with cold callers. Take a note of any registration of vehicles individuals are in and call us immediately.
"In many many cases cold callers travel from area to area scouting out properties for a later visit.
"Be aware of criminals who travel."
Anyone with information or who believes they came across the men in question is urged to contact police on non-emergency line 101.
SF Welcome New Cybersecurity Roles In L'Derry
The announcement of 70 new jobs for L'Derry as cybersecurity firm MetaCompliance expands its operations has been welcomed by Sinn Fein.
The company has committed £4.5 million for the new roles, which are expected to generate £1.9 million a year in salaries, to facilitate their expansion into US and European markets.
Sinn Fein MP Elisha McCallion said: "This is a boost for the local economy and demonstrates what this region can offer when people work in partnership to make the vision of a new Derry and north west a reality.
"At a time when the uncertainties of a Tory/DUP crash Brexit looms over business and threatens the economy here job creation of this level is welcome news.
"These jobs will provide much-needed employment for the local area and particularly for our young people and I look forward to seeing them come to fruition."
Ballymena Heritage Hub Shortlisted For Award
Ballymena's Heritage Hub at Carnlough Town Hall has been shortlisted for a 2019 Heritage Angels Award.
The development will compete in the Best Heritage Research and Interpretation category.
These annual awards celebrate the unsung angels of local heritage- individuals or groups, who have rescued an historic building or site, worked as craftsmen or apprentices, or recorded and interpreted a historic place.
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Maureen Morrow said: "We are thrilled by the news that the Heritage Hub at Carnlough Town Hall has been shortlisted for a 2019 Heritage Angels Awards.
"The Hub's exhibition explores the history of settlers from the Stone Age, to industrialists of the 19th Century who developed the harbour, Limestone quarry and mineral railway line. It also covers the natural and geological resources of the area, highlighting it's beautiful landscape and maritime history.
"The Hub is a community resource which also aims to showcase more of what is on offer for visitors to Carnlough and encourages them to explore deeper into the Glens within the Mid and East Antrim area."

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Armagh on 29 October 2019.

Five New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed
