Police Probe Spate Of Co Down Burglaries
Police have launched an investigation following three burglaries in County Down over the weekend.
Properties in the Newtownards and Bangor areas were targeted within a two hour period on Saturday evening, 05 October.
A possible link has been identified, however it's not believed anything was stolen during any of the incidents.
The first report was made shortly after 7.30pm when entry was forced to a house in the Aldergrange Avenue area of Newtownards.
Later, at around 8.50pm, an elderly woman was confronted by an unknown male in the living room of her Bangor home on the Ballymaconnell Road South. The lady, aged in her 80s, managed to push the man out of the room and then observed another man standing in the hallway.
Police said both males made off through the front door.
The third incident, reported at around 9.30pm, saw two males force entry to a house on the Killaire Road in Bangor.
Detective Inspector Kelly is appealing for anyone who witnessed the burglaries, or noticed any strange vehicles or anything out of the ordinary to contact detectives in Bangor on non-emergency line 101, quoting reference 1656 05/10/19.
Details can also be provided anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
