Deadline Looms For Fireworks Licence
Anyone wishing to buy or use fireworks in the coming days and weeks is urged to seek a fireworks licence by tomorrow, Wednesday 23 October.
Local government services are reminding members of the public it is an offence to buy or have fireworks without one.
Licences cost £30 when there are less than 100 spectators, or £80 for crowds of between 100 and 1000 people. Anyone hosting a display expected to attract more than 1,000 spectators will be charged £160.
Apply using these links:
• Category F2 (garden) fireworks licence
• Category F3 licence to buy, possess and use display type fireworks
Forms can also be obtained by calling 0300 200 7881.
As well as customers, retailers must also be registered and must display prominently at the point of sale their current licence or certificate of registration.
The public is advised to avoid temptation to buy from illegal sources, which would risk prosecution and possible safety hazards.

With regards to safety, anyone handling or setting off fireworks is urged to follow the code at all times.
