Lucky Escape As Car Flips On Roof

A driver has been lucky to escape injury after a car flipped onto its roof during a collision in east Belfast.

Police attended the scene on Bloomfield Road at around 3.30am on Tuesday morning, 22 October.

A spokesperson said: "Not the kind of call you want to hear over the radio from the control room… 'Can you attend to a report of a car on its roof? Injuries unknown'."

Despite no one being injured, the driver was arrested at the scene. Investigations are underway to determine if the motorist, who had been driving a vehicle with R plates, was unfit through drink or drugs.
