CCTV Camera Stolen In Banbridge Theft
Police have launched an appeal following the theft of a CCTV camera from a house in Banbridge, Co Down.
A property in the Millcourt area of the town was targeted on Tuesday morning, 22 October.
The device is suspected to have been stolen from the property sometime between 3.00am and 4.15am.
Enquiries are continuing and police have appealed to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity to call 101 quoting reference number 129 of 22/10/19. Details can also be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Applications Welcomed For 2020 DfE NI Apprenticeship Awards
The Department for Economy is welcoming applications for its 2020 Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Awards.
The NI Apprenticeship Awards recognise apprentices who are making a significant contribution in their workplace and have shown a dedication to excel in their professional development and learning. They also celebrate partnerships between employers and Training Suppliers that support the continuous growth of apprenticeships in Northern Ireland.
Prizes will be dished out in four categories: Apprentice Award; Higher Level Apprentice Award; Large Employer Innovation Award; and SME Innovation Award.
CITB NI is encouraging those in construction to nominate for these prestigious awards.
To enter a nomination visit the DfE website.
The deadline for applications is Friday 25 October.
NI Farmers Welcome News Of Full UK Access To Chinese Markets
The Ulster Farmers' Union says the UK's full access to the Chinese market, which is worth £230 million in the first five years, is news to be welcomed.
The comments were made following the announcement by DAERA that the Chinese market is opening to beef farmers for the first time in 20 years since the BSE outbreak in 1996.
UFU beef and lamb chairman Sam Chesney commented: "Four sites in the UK have been cleared for approval and it is crucial that DAERA works swiftly to get as many sites approved in Northern Ireland as quickly as possible so that farmers on the ground can benefit from this.
"NI beef farmers produce beef to some of the highest animal health and welfare standards in the world with a high focus on traceability.
"At a huge time of uncertainty for the NI beef sector the government must continue to work hard on securing market access to global markets."
