Two Released From Hospital After Restaurant Fire

Two people have been released from hospital following a restaurant fire in Donaghadee, Co Down.

Fire crews were called to The Bull and Claw restaurant on Moat Street at around 10am on Wednesday 04 December.

The blaze spread through the top quarter of the premises after beginning in the utility room.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday evening, the restaurant confirmed that two of their staff have been treated for smoke inhalation after working to contain the fire.

A spokesperson said: "Been a bad day at the office. Fire spread through the top quarter of our premises from our utility room.

"Craig and Duncan tried their best and contained the fire 'til the professionals arrived.

"Thanks to the fantastic fire brigade who managed to keep the damage to the absolute minimum.

"Craig and Duncan have been released from hospital after treatment for smoke inhalation. We are so glad that they are ok and wish them a continued and speedy recovery."

The restaurant said the situation is ongoing and customers will be kept informed.
