Hundreds Run For NI Children's Hospice

Over 600 people walked, jogged and ran their way around Stormont Estate on Sunday 08 December for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice Jingle 5k/10k event.

The event is part of the charity's festive fundraising campaign, Jingle All the Way, which aims to raise £500,000 to give the gift of care to local children and their families.

Mary McCall, Director of Commercial and Brand Development at Northern Ireland Hospice praised the runners, saying: "I would like to thank our sponsors for supporting the event and to everyone who donated and took part in this year's Jingle 5k/10k. We have been overwhelmed by the support and the fantastic amount raised brings us even closer to our £500,000 target.

"It costs £3.82 million each year for the Children's Hospice to provide specialist palliative care to local infants, children and young people. Only 35% of that is received through statutory funding which makes events like the Jingle 5k/10k so important for raising vital funds to support our work."

The Jingle run is sponsored by AIB NI and Q Radio and supported by O'Neills Sportswear, Aqua Twist, Nightlife Security and Bob and Berts.

Heather Stewart, Senior Manager of Sales & Service Enablement at AIB NI, added: "We were absolutely delighted to support this amazing event which is so crucial in raising vital funds for local children and their families. It was a fantastic day and I would encourage everyone to take part in it next year."

The timings of all runners can be viewed online.
