Identity Of Co Armagh Murder Victim Confirmed
Police have confirmed the identity of a man murdered in Portadown last week.
Cecil Robert Ellis, aged 49, was found dead at his Clounagh Park home on the morning of Monday 09 December. He was known locally as "Foggy".
Following a port mortem and initial investigations, police set up a murder enquiry to establish how Mr Ellis died.
They have since been granted extra time to question two suspects.
The men, aged 18 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of murder during searches in Portadown. Detectives were today granted an extra 24 hours to question the 18 year-old and a further 36 to question the 24 year-old.
Police are appealing for information regarding the murder. Detective Chief Inspector Eamonn Corrigan said: "I want to appeal to anyone who was in the Clounagh Park area, between 10.30pm on Sunday 08 December and 9.45am on Monday 09 December to think back to if they saw anything out of the ordinary. You may have seen people in Clounagh Park acting suspiciously. If you did, or if you have any information you think may help our investigation please tell us by calling our detectives on 101 and quote the reference number 414 of 09/12/10."

Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.
