Green Party Issues Message Of Support For Those Struggling

Deputy Leader of Northern Ireland's Green Party Mal O'Hara has spoken out after a number of people lost their lives to suicide in recent times.

Mal O'Hara, who sits on the board of a local suicide prevention charity, has highlighted the support available for anyone who may be struggling.

The Castle Councillor said: "If you are worried about someone or if you are struggling with suicidal thoughts, depression or grief from a bereavement there is support out there.

"It is within our gift to be thoughtful towards each other and provide a message of hope to anyone who is struggling. There are great organisations doing all they can to support those who are struggling.

"Clearly government at all levels must do more to create emotionally resilient communities with positive mental health and fewer people at risk of suicide."
