Woman Dies In Co Down Crash
A woman in her 40s has lost her life in a collision in Co Down.
The driver was travelling alone on the Portaferry Road, just outside of Newtownards when the crash happened on Saturday morning, 18 January.
Her blue Vauxhall Astra was discovered by the shore close to Teal Rocks at around 9am.
Police are appealing for information to help trace the whereabouts of the car, registration VCZ 4903, between 7pm on Friday evening and when it was discovered. It's understood the driver had been travelling in the Portaferry direction before the collision.
Inspector John Hanna said: "I would like to hear from anyone who travelled along the Portaferry Road between these times and who may have seen the car, or anyone who recorded any dashcam or mobile phone footage that could potentially help our investigation. The investigation team can be contacted by calling 101, quoting reference 384 18/01/20."
