Arrest As Firearms Seized In Co Antrim

Police have arrested a suspect following the discovery of a number of suspected firearms in Co Antrim.

A quantity of ammunition and imitation firearms were also seized during the raid of a flat in Carrickfergus on Tuesday 21.

A 32 year-old man was subsequently arrested and remained in custody on Tuesday evening.

Detective Inspector McCoy said: "The seizure of these firearms and other items demonstrates our commitment to removing harm from our community and I would encourage anyone with information regrading criminality to contact police on 101."
