'Significant' Munitions Find In River Lagan
A "significant" munitions find has been uncovered as dredging work was carried out on the River Lagan.
A security alert was sparked at the Queen Elizabeth Bridge and nearby footbridge in Belfast last night after a number of suspicious objects were discovered in a vessel.
ATO were tasked to the scene to remove the objects for forensic examination.
The PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit has launched an investigation.
Detective Chief Superintendent Raymond Murray said: "While the objects will undergo further examination, we believe a significant munitions find has been uncovered."
The bridges have reopened this morning, Friday 31 January.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.

A security alert in east Belfast this morning has been declared a hoax. Three suspicious objects close to a telephone box were removed for examination after they had been checked by Army technical officers.
