Storm Ciara: Further Weather Warning Issued
The weather conditions are set to worsen this week as the Met Office issues a further warning for snow and ice.
The latest in a series of alerts, it warns of further snow showers and icy surfaces this Wednesday, 12 February.
The fresh alert follows a wet and stormy weekend as Storm Ciara sweeps the region. Western areas appear to have taken the brunt of the storm so far, with areas of Omagh flooded after the Drumragh River burst its banks.
A wind and snow warning remains in place at present as temperatures remain low, while the latest alert will take effect at midnight on Tuesday and continue for 12 hours.
Forecasters have warned of continued travel disruption in the coming days and advised those hoping to travel by road or rail to plan for delays.
Members of the public are also reminded to be aware of the risk of slips and falls on icy surfaces while out and about.
