Stormont Spads & Salaries Published
The names and salaries of Stormont's special advisers have been revealed, with a few former MLAs and serving councillors returning to work with the new Executive.
A total of 14 Spads have been appointed, two less than the previous group before Stormont was suspended in 2017.
The new code of conduct, published by Finance Minister Conor Murphy last month, also saw the average salary for special advisers reduced by £10,000, meaning they can no longer be paid more than a Minister.
The average Spad pay packet now stands at £62,750, with the total annual salary pay bill at £876,498, a drop from £1,162,894 in 2017.
Returning politicians of note include the DUP's Emma Little-Pengelly, appointed to the Executive Office after losing her seat as MP for south Belfast, as well as and former DUP MLA Alastair Ross.

• Ms Tanya McCamphill, Infrastructure, up to £54,999
• Ms Claire Johnson, Justice, up to £54,999
• Mr Stephen McGlade, Executive Office, pay-band 3 at £78,000
• Dr Dara O'Hagan, Executive Office, pay-band 3 at £78,000
• Mr John Loughran, Executive Office, pay-band 2 at £67,000
• Dr Philip Weir, Executive Office, pay-band 3 at £78,000
• Ms Emma Little-Pengelly, Executive Office, pay-band 3 at £78,000

A closer spotlight was placed on the role of Spads during the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Inquiry. Now, they will operate under greater scrutiny with the implementation of the new code of conduct.

The North Belfast MLA said: "There are 33 Tower blocks across the north, seven of which are in the New Lodge area of North Belfast.

'Embarrassing' Report Into Housing Executive Contracts

First Institutional Payment For Redress Scheme Received
The first institutional payment towards redress for the victims and survivors of historical abuse of children has been received, First Minister Michelle O'Neill has announced. Alliance representatives Paula Bradshaw MLA and Connie Egan MLA welcomed the news, but said that it "reinforces the urgency of the work still to be done".
