Graduate Opportunities Launched In The North West
A financial services company is offering 20 local graduates the opportunity to embark on a new career.
The roles with FinTrU, based in the North West, are supported by the Department for the Economy.
Successful applicants will take part in a six week industry-relevant training scheme with the North West Regional College before being guaranteed a job interview with the company.
Applicants must have a minimum 2:2 degree in any discipline and no previous experience is required.
Highlighting the Academy, the Department's Director of Skills, Graeme Wilkinson, commented: "Assured Skills Academies are not only a proven and successful model of upskilling the local workforce, they also help to ensure there are people with the right skills available to businesses, enabling them to provide quality employment and career opportunities while supporting the local economy.
"It is vital that there are people with the right skills available to businesses and this latest Academy delivered once again by North West Regional College and Ulster University will provide people with a degree with a pathway into the growing financial services sector."
Sinead Carville, Chief Human Resources Officer at FinTrU, added: "FinTrU is a people business and our employees are a critical driver in achieving the company's business objectives. In the North West, FinTrU has gone from 0 to more than 120 employees in just under 16 months, with further plans for rapid growth. The FinTrU Financial Services Academy represents a fantastic opportunity for those embarking on their professional journey or looking for a change in career in an exciting industry."
The FinTrU North West Financial Services Academy will be delivered by North West Regional College in conjunction with Ulster University and will equip participants with real world learning and experience in the financial services sector.
Sinead Hawkins, Business Skills Manager at North West Regional College, said: "We are delighted to be a delivery partner in the FinTrU academy. NWRC has a strong track record of collaborating with local business to deliver real benefits. With support from the Department for the Economy, the college can provide cutting edge research and innovation expertise and also, such as with Assured Skills, high quality training to ensure employers have the people they need to keep growing."
Dr David McAree, Lecturer in Accounting, at Ulster University added: "The staff of Ulster University Business School, Magee Campus are proud to support the development of talented individuals seeking careers in the financial services sector. We will endeavour to work with our partners in the North West to ensure that students on the programme are supported in their learning experience as they take advantage of the career opportunities presented to them."
