Icy Conditions Cause Chaos On The Roads

Drivers are urged to avoid a busy north Belfast route as the icy weather makes conditions difficult.

The PSNI has issued a warning for those in the vicinity of White Brae, off the Lionel Road.

Officers say it's best to avoid the route completely due to treacherous driving conditions.

Motorists should seek another route.

Meanwhile, a yellow weather warning for snow and ice has been issued as the wintry conditions continue.

The Met Office has advised of likely disruptions to road and rail travel and longer journey times by road, bus and train.

Members of the public are advised to take caution and plan extra time whether they are planning to get behind the wheel or make their way along untreated pavements and cycle paths.

The alert will take affect at 10pm this evening, Wednesday 26, until 10am tomorrow.
