Security Alert In West Belfast
Police have responded to a security alert on the Springfield Road in west Belfast.
It is understood the incident is ongoing and residents of Hawthorn Street have been advised to remain indoors.
According to reports police are at the scene, a number of roads in the area and a local medical centre have been closed.
Police are said to be working to "make the scene safe" but no further detail of the incident have been released.

A number of roads remain closed across Northern Ireland following the damage caused by Storm Ali. The following roads are still closed, however the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) is working to clear the obstructions along with its multiagency partners.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

A security alert has ended in west Belfas following the discovery of a suspicious object on Sunday, 14 July. Inspector Adams said: "Police received a report shortly before 8am that a suspicious object had been discovered outside a property in the Springfield Road area of the city.
