Talks Continue On Covid Restrictions
Talks on NI's Covid-19 restrictions will continue today, Tuesday 10 November, after the NI Executive failed to reach an agreement yesterday.
Ministers failed to agree a next move for the current restrictions, which are due to end this Friday.
It is understood that a partial reopening of the hospitality sector is under consideration – with cafes, restaurants and bars that sell food maybe being allowed to reopen, with the sale of alcohol being restricted. With this, so-called wet bars would remain closed. Other businesses affected by the latest 'circuit breaker lockdown', such as hairdressers and beauticians, could be allowed to reopen, with "certain restrictions" in place.
According to reports, Ministers were unable to agree on new measures following concerns raised by the hospitality sector over the potential impact of ongoing, or new, restrictions.
