Openreach To Invest Over £100m In Capital Expenditure In NI
Digital infrastructure provider Openreach has announced it is to invest over £100million in capital expenditure in Northern Ireland over the next 12 months.
The investment will be used to support the maintenance of Openreach’s existing copper and fibre networks as well as its ultrafast Full Fibre broadband network build programme.
A total of 100 new apprentice roles will also be created.
Arlene Foster, First Minister of Northern Ireland said: “I welcome the commitment by Openreach to enhance and extend digital connectivity in Northern Ireland over the next 12 months. The £100m investment plan will mean that well over two-thirds of homes and businesses here will have access to its ultrafast full fibre broadband network."

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
Work has begun at several hospital sites across Northern Ireland as part of the preparations for the introduction of free car parking in May 2026. Health and Social Care Trusts have been actively preparing for the implementation of a new traffic management system since the Hospital Parking Charges Act was passed in 2022.
