Security Alert Ongoing In Coleraine

A number of homes have been evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious object in Coleraine.

The object was found in the Brook Street area today, 05 May.

Police are at the scene and the street has been closed.

No further details have been released.

Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald said: "A security alert caused by reports of a suspicious object in the Brooke Street area of Coleraine has brought nothing but disruption to the area.

"Local residents have been evacuated from their homes as a result of this alert.

"Those behind this alert have nothing to offer the people of Coleraine and need to end these futile actions immediately."

Security Alert Underway In Belfast
A security alert is currently underway in Belfast. It is understood there have been reports of a suspicious object found in the Tates Avenue area of the city. As a result, the road has been closed between Boucher Road roundabout and Lorne Street. Police and army bomb experts are in attendance at the scene. No other details have been released.

Security Alert In South Belfast Declared A Hoax
Residents had to be evacuated from their homes in south Belfast following a security alert in south Belfast. A suspicious object was thrown at a property in the Blythe Street area at around 11.30pm. Police and army technical officers attended the scene which was described as a hoax. The residents have now returned to their homes.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Security Alert Launched In Co Tyrone
The PSNI have launched a security alert in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. A suspicious object was discovered in the Fairmount Park area on Wednesday, 17 January. The road has been closed and a number of residents have been evacuated from their homes. No further information has been released.
