Two Security Alerts In L'Derry Declared 'Elaborate Hoaxes'

Two security alerts in L'Derry have now ended after being declared "elaborate hoaxes".

The PSNI and Army bomb disposal experts attended the scenes at Craigavon Bridge and Skeoge Road on Wednesday, 12 May, and carried out tests on the suspicious objects.

They have been removed for further examination.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "I am keen to thank everyone affected and inconvenienced, in both instances, for their patience as we worked to make the area safe.

“I am also asking members of the public to be vigilant. If you should come across any object that looks suspicious, please don't touch it."
