L'Derry Security Alert Declared A Hoax
A security alert at St Brecans Park in L'Derry has been declared a hoax.
Emergency services responded to reports of a suspicious object in the area early on Saturday 12 June. Homes in the surrounding area were evacuated as the device was examined. Following an extensive operation, the device was determined to be a hoax and the scene was declared safe.
Inspector Farren said: "I want to thank the public, and in particular those impacted by the alert, for their cooperation. I also want to appeal to anyone who has information about this incident, or who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area, to call us on 101 and quote reference number 593 of 12/06/21."

Carrick Security Alert Declared A Hoax
A security alert has ended in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim. The alert, in the Broadlands area, is the third alert in just over a week. Police and army bomb experts attended the scene on Monday following the discovery of two suspicious objects in the area. Residents were evacuated from their homes.

A suspicious object has been found at a house in Carrickfergus. The property, in the Larne Road area, sparked a security alert on Wednesday morning. Police and army bomb experts attended the scene. They examined the device, declared it to be viable and made it safe. The alert has ended and Larne Road has since reopened to traffic.
