Man Arrested In Connection With Ammunition Seizure

Police in Belfast have arrested a 55-year-old in connection with an ammunition seizure.

The man was detained on suspicion of possessing ammunition in suspicious circumstances after the seizure was made during a search operation in the New Lodge area of Belfast.

It is understood that a number of other items were also seized and are currently being forensically examined.

The search operation was carried out as part of an ongoing serious crime organisation.

Funeral for dinghy tragedy teenager
A Coleraine teenager, who drowned off the coast of Castlerock, is to be buried today. Robert McMullan, 15, died when the dinghy he was in with a friend got into difficulties and capsized on Tuesday. He was airlifted to hospital, but died later. His friend managed to swim to shore and raised the alarm.

Two Men Arrested In Connection With Firearm And Drug Seizure
Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force have arrested two men in Newtownards. The arrests were made under the Terrorism Act following the discovery of a gun and ammunition, along with a quantity of cannabis, at a house in the town. Police said that they believe seizures are linked to loyalist paramilitaries.

Image Released Of Guns And Ammunition Seized In West Belfast
The PSNI have released an image of weapons and ammunition seized during a house search in west Belfast. Four guns and a quantity of ammunition were discovered at a property in the Norglen area on Saturday, 24 June.
