Man Arrested In Connection With Organised Crime In Enniskillen
A 37-year-old man has been arrested in Enniskillen in relation to organised crime.
Detectives made the arrest yesterday, Wednesday 07 July, on suspicion of a number of offences; including being concerned in the supply of Class A controlled drugs and conspiring to fraudulently import Class A controlled drugs.
The man was taken into custody, where he remains, as part of Operation Venetic.
Detective Chief Inspector Hamilton said: "Detectives from Criminal Investigation Branch's Organised Crime Unit continue to play their part in the UK's biggest law enforcement operation against serious and organised criminality.
"This is an example of our ongoing commitment to bring those involved in criminal activity to justice. Working alongside our partner agencies, we will continue to disrupt the movements and activities of Organised Crime Gangs. We recognise the harm caused in our communities as a result of organised crime and we will continue to keep people safe from this activity.
"Anyone with information about any criminality should contact police on 101 or anonymously through the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111, which gives people the power to speak up and stop crime and help us keep your community safe. Newry Man Jailed For EncroChat Drug Offences
A 48-year-old man from Newry has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison for drug offences uncovered following the takedown of the encrypted phone network, EncroChat. Rory Trainor appeared before Londonderry Crown Court on, Wednesday, 25 March, where he received the sentence, with half to be served in custody and the remainder on licence.

Police arrested a 44-year-old man after stopping and searching a vehicle on the Crumlin Road, Belfast, on Thursday afternoon. Officers located drugs with an estimated street value of £75,000 within the vehicle. Follow-up searches were conducted at three properties in east Belfast and Antrim.
